AI interview copilot pricing: 10 services and 5 billing models

The same function sells for $12 and for $299 a month. Five billing models, ten services with dated prices, and a way to calculate the real cost of your search rather than the shop-window one.

The advertised price in this category is almost always lower than what you'll pay. Sometimes the attractive number requires a year up front, sometimes the month runs on credits, and sometimes the price isn't shown at all until the site has worked out your region.

Below are prices for ten services collected from their public pages on 1 September 2026, plus a breakdown of the five billing models. Ruble figures are converted at 80 ₽ to the dollar.

Russian-market services

Worth a look even if you're not in that market, because the same function is priced roughly a tenth as high.

ServicePriceFree tierOS
JobPath≈ $12 Basic / $31 Premium a month15 minutes and 15 applications a dayWin, Mac, Linux

ShadowHint renders its prices client-side, so that figure is from our earlier check and may be stale.

The five billing models

1. Unlimited subscription

You pay for a calendar month and use it as much as you need. JobPath, ShadowHint and most western PRO tiers work this way.

The upside is predictability: during an interview you think about the question, not the balance. The downside is paying for months with no interviews in them.

2. Subscription with credits

Interview Coder gives 1,000 credits a month for $299. A credit is spent on every request, rephrasings and failed debugging attempts included.

It looks flexible and produces the worst possible incentive: you start rationing requests at the exact moment you need one more. A single hard problem can eat a visible share of the monthly pack.

3. Hour packs

ParakeetAI sells time: $59 for 3 hours, $118 for 8, $177 for 15 — between $12 and $20 an hour depending on volume.

An honest model if you have one or two interviews and no reason to buy a month. Expensive once you have ten calls.

4. Lifetime licence

Interview Coder at $799 one time, LockedIn AI at around $1,499 according to third-party reviews.

The maths is simple: divide by your monthly alternative to get the break-even point. $799 against $31 a month is over two years of continuous job hunting. For most people it's an insurance purchase that never pays for itself.

5. Short periods

Sobes.tech sells 7, 14 and 30 days. Per month, the weekly rate is nearly twice the monthly one — but if your final round is next Tuesday, there's no reason to buy a month.

It's the model that matches the actual task most closely, and almost nobody offers it.

The annual-price trap

The most common trick in the category is showing the annual rate as the headline price. The spread runs up to fourfold:

ServiceMonthlyBilled annuallySpread
Sensei AI$89$243.7×
ParakeetAI$149.90$49.993.0×
JobPath Premium≈ $31≈ $191.7×

This matters because a job search lasts months, not a year. Paying twelve months up front only makes sense if you're permanently searching — not a state worth budgeting for.

What "free" means at each of them

The word covers four different things here.

A free copilot on a live call. JobPath — 15 minutes every day. Sensei AI — 15-minute sessions. ParakeetAI — 10 sessions. Verve AI — 3 copilot sessions and 5 mock interviews. This is the only kind of free that answers "does it actually work?"

Free everything except the copilot. Final Round AI: resume upload, job description parsing, prep checklist. The copilot needs a subscription, so the main thing stays unseen until you pay.

Free to download. Interview Coder: the app installs, the AI features don't run.

No free tier. Sobes.tech sells paid periods only.

How to calculate your own cost

Estimate the duration. Honestly: how many months will this take? Two to three is typical; senior roles in narrow stacks run longer.

Add up the total, not the monthly. Three months of Sensei AI billed monthly is $267. Three months of JobPath Premium is about $94, or $66 on the quarterly rate. One month of Interview Coder is $299.

Add what isn't included. If the copilot doesn't cover applications and resumes, those tasks don't disappear — you do them by hand or buy another service. Our automatic applications and resume tooling sit in the same subscription; most western copilots don't have them at all.

FAQ

How much does an AI interview assistant cost?

As of 1 September 2026 the range runs from about $12 for a week (Sobes.tech) to $299 a month (Interview Coder). Russian-market services sit between $12 and $31 a month; western ones between $19.99 and $299 on monthly billing.

Credits or an unlimited subscription?

Unlimited, for most scenarios. On credits every rephrasing and failed attempt costs you, and rationing requests mid-interview is a bad place to be. Credits only make sense for a single short call.

Is a lifetime licence worth it?

Divide it by your monthly alternative. $799 against $31 a month breaks even after more than two years of continuous searching — several times over the cost of a typical two-to-three-month search.

Why isn't the price on the website?

Some services geo-localise pricing, so each region sees its own numbers and the shared page shows none. Others render prices client-side. Either way, open the pricing page from your own region rather than trusting someone else's screenshot.

Which interview copilot is cheapest?

Among those that publish a price: JobPath Basic at about $12 a month and Cluely Pro at $19.99. For a single short period, Sobes.tech sells a week for around $12.

Are there free AI interview assistants?

None that are entirely free, but four include live sessions in the free tier: JobPath (15 minutes a day), Sensei AI, ParakeetAI (10 sessions) and Verve AI (3 sessions). That's enough to evaluate a product before paying.
