Is JobPath visible when I share my screen in Zoom?

No. The copilot window is excluded from the stream Zoom sends to participants: they see your desktop or the app you're presenting instead. Verified both for full-screen sharing and for sharing a single window.

Will Zoom notice a third-party app is running?

Zoom doesn't scan your process list or report it to the other side. To it, the copilot is just another window, like a browser or a messenger.

What about Zoom's attention tracking?

Attention tracking, which used to tell the host that a participant had switched away from Zoom, was removed from the product in 2020. There is no built-in way for the host to see which window is active on your machine.

Do I need the Zoom app, or is the browser fine?

Either works. The Zoom web client is a browser tab; audio still travels through the system and the copilot draws over any window. Audio permissions are granted once, on the first launch of JobPath.

What if I can barely hear the interviewer?

Check that the call's audio plays on the same machine that runs the copilot and that system-audio permission is granted. If the sound is routed to a phone or a conference speaker, the copilot won't hear it.

Do I need a plugin or a bot in the call?

No. The copilot doesn't integrate with Zoom: nothing appears in the participant list, nobody has to be invited, and the meeting settings stay as they were.

Interview hints in Zoom

Zoom is the most common interview client and the source of the most common question: «will anything show if they ask me to share my screen?». It won't. The copilot hears the interviewer through system audio and shows the answer over the Zoom window — only for you.

How it looks during the call

The copilot is a separate window on your machine. It doesn't plug into the meeting client and never joins the call as a participant.

Open it before the call

The app is installed and signed in. You open it ahead of the call, the way you'd open notes.

It hears the interviewer

Audio is captured system-wide on your device. The meeting client knows nothing about it: no bot in the participant list, no plugin, no platform API access.

You press the hotkey

An answer to the last question appears in an overlay above the call window — a couple of seconds, structured text.

«Entire screen» and «Window» are both safe

Zoom offers to share the whole screen, a single window or a tab. The copilot window is excluded from the stream in every one of those modes: where the overlay sits, the other side sees your desktop or the app you're presenting.

Zoom's audio settings don't interfere

Noise suppression, «original sound» and virtual backgrounds are handled inside Zoom. The copilot takes audio system-wide — the same path it travels to your headphones — so recognition doesn't depend on those settings.

A host recording captures what everyone saw

If the interviewer records the call, the recording holds the meeting stream: your video, the audio and your screen share. The hints aren't there, because they were never in the stream.

Breakout rooms change nothing

Moving into a breakout room is the same meeting in the same window. The copilot listens to the device's audio rather than a specific session, so hints keep working.
